On July 21, 2022, Google finally announced the availability of Google Pixel 6A for the preorder. A successor to Pixel 5A last year, this phone is an affordable offer for Google for 2022. At first glance, Pixel 6A seems to be a serious value offer, given that he uses the same tensor chip that gives other Google strength from Other Google Lineup Pixel. It also gets the camera settings that are tried and tested from the longer Google Pixel Grade smartphone. There are several compromise, of course, some of them include 60Hz screens (not 120Hz), lack of wireless filling support, and there is no headphone jack.
The main problem with the original Pixel 6 series is a fingerprint scanner that is reportedly slow and inaccurate. Initial reports from technology reviewers around the world show that this defect has been brought to Pixel 6A as well. Meanwhile alone is the cause of concerns, we now have several reports that discuss more critical weaknesses with the Pixel 6A fingerprint scanner.
The test conducted by a handful of technology reviewers who got a review unit from Pixel 6A showed that anyone could potentially cut the Google Pixel 6A biometric security protocol. Some YouTubers have uploaded videos showing cellphones opened by people who do not have their fingerprint data stored on the device.
What is wrong with the Google Pixel 6A fingerprint scanner
Among YouTubers who have highlighted this problem including Geekyranjit – Popular Indian technology YouTuber – and other Indian technology channels called Beebom. YouTuber Victor Kamanga also discussed this issue in his Pixel 6A video. This problem was also verified by people in 91 Mobiles. There is also a special utas on Reddit about this special defect in Pixel 6A. A user at Utas also claims that he can re -create the same problem in his Pixel 6a where his wife can unlock the phone even though he does not have fingerprint data on the device.
With Google, it has not officially responded to this development, it is unclear whether this problem is only limited to several reviews. However, we must get a clearer picture with Pixel 6A set to reach the hands of consumers starting July 28. If the problem is realized in the mobile retail edition, Google may need to issue an update to patch vulnerability.
