Getting a new iPad is interesting. There are many settings that must be done when you initially accept it, including downloading a new application, set your wallpaper screen and lock, and changing the settings so that it functions as you wish. These are all great things related to your new device, but there are other tasks that you might ignore what is important to consider, one of which is to change your privacy settings.
Privacy and security are important, and unclear when you first open what settings you really need to change in this matter. What you want to remember is that sharing data with applications can be a dangerous trial. Data leaks occur, and can be used to fight you for evil purposes. Therefore, it is best to keep your data safe and refrain from allowing application access unless it is really necessary.
Why You Should Disable Ad Tracking
One setting on your iPad that allows the application to request your data is the “ad tracking” option. When this is turned on, as noted by the Washington Post, this allows companies to track the use of internet, locations, and other information, to target you with relevant advertisements. However, this can be the data that is your best interest to keep away from the hands of foreigners. You can easily change this setting on your iPad and see which application has this permit. This is how:
1. In your iPad settings application, open “privacy” and tap “tracking.”
2. Tap the slider if it is green to turn it off. If you die, you don’t need to worry.
3. If you find it, you can see a list of applications at the bottom that has been asked to track your information or now track you.
4. When you knock the slider to turn off tracking, you can choose to “ask for an application to stop tracking,” which will turn off tracking for all applications.
Another privacy setting that you might want to see is “location service.” Currently it is turned on, the application you use might be able to track your location using GPS, Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi. Some applications do need this function, but use your rating that is better to decide whether an application really requires your location information. You can see the list of applications on the “Location Service” screen that is currently allowed to track your location, either when using the application, or always. You can knock the application and set it to “never” if you don’t want to track you. You can also turn off the location service completely by tapping the slider at the top so that it turns gray.
